Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Tragic Car Crash

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos announced on Wednesday evening. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash outside Lagos on December 29th, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The boxer had remained in the hospital while recovering from minor injuries, his management team stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.

“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two deceased friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.

Remembering the Victims

The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”

This update on his health arrives after the boxing community had expressed its support for the champion in the aftermath of the devastating accident.
